About White Pass Ski Area
Located just 24 minutes from Packwood, the White Pass Ski Area offers visitors 1,402 acres of skiable terrain and a ski season that starts in November and extends all the way to April. White Pass Ski Area 2024 Lift Ticket Info
If you don’t live near Packwood or the White Pass Ski Area, you probably won’t have a need for a season pass. But, to shred the trails, you’ll still need a lift ticket. First-time visitors need to purchase a $5 RFID card. After you’ve done that, you can visit the eStore to load your card with your lift tickets for the days you’ll be visiting.

Keep in mind Saturdays tend to sell out quickly, so if you can only ski on certain days during your vacation, purchase your tickets well in advance to secure your dates.
Lessons for Every Skill Level
Lessons are divided into skill levels and support everyone from beginners to expert riders so you can choose the best option for you and your group.
Lil Shredders children’s lessons are held on weekends and holidays for kids ages 4-5. These lessons will help your child master the “pizza” technique, learn to ride the carpet all by themselves, and make right and left turns.
Alpine skiing group and private lessons beginner courses focus on the basics of loading and unloading from lifts, making simple turns, and maintaining control. Intermediate lessons work on increasing speed, control, and form. Expert levels will help you grow your skills as you become the best skier in your group!

Gear Rentals at White Pass Ski Area
The Rental Shop is located on the ground floor of the White Pass Day Lodge and is your go-to spot for alpine skiing and snowboard equipment. What to Wear when Skiing White Pass Ski Area
- Helmet – Falling on hard-packed snow can feel like hitting concrete. Stay safe and avoid severe head injuries by wearing a properly fitting safety helmet.
- Neck Gaiter – Ensure your neck stays warm and dry no matter how cold or snowy the day gets.
- Goggles and Sunscreen – The sun reflecting off the snow is stunning but harsh on your eyes and skin. Protect both with high-quality goggles and sunscreen. Don’t forget lip balm to shield your lips from cracking or burning!
- Hydration – Skiing and snowboarding are intense activities, so staying hydrated is crucial. Keep a water bottle or hydration pack handy or plan to take regular breaks to replenish fluids.
